This section provides information on how to fulfill one of your Winter Assignment requirements for IB Lit 11.  Do not begin this assignment until you have completed reading the novel, 1984, by George Orwell.  I have sent  both a Word and a pdf version of the text to your email and posted them in the Google doc 1984 folder. Make sure you read these versions, so that in future discussion, our page numbers will be the same.   ​

• You will write a 300 - 400 word headline news article based on the novel that must reflect at least four of the following literary topics:

1. Theme
2. Impact of Setting
3. Characterization
4. Paradox
5. Symbols
6. Conflicts
7. Tone
8. Imagery

• Although you may make up some aspects of the article, it should be largely and specifically based on the novel and set during its time.
• Include an image that illustrates the overall message of your article.
• Make sure that the finished product is free of grammar and mechanical errors; otherwise, your grade will be greatly reduced.
