Manipulating Truth

​In the novel "1984", Truth was manipulated for the purpose of power and control.

This reality is not far off from us today. 



Using an infograph tool (canva or smore) you learned to use in Academic Leadership, create an infograph in response to the following questions based on research and personal experience: 



Divide your infograph into three sections:

1. Manipulating Truth to rewrite history.
      How has technology allowed individuals and institutions to rewrite history to manipulate Truth for the 
      purpose of  control?

2. Hardware and Software used to manipulate Truth.
      Provide specific examples of hardware and software used to manipulate Truth.
      (Use information under Strands 3.1 and 3.2 in your ITGS Strands 1-3.)​​
    

3. Manipulated Truth: transmitted and communicated to society.
      Explain how manipulated Truth is transmitted and communicated to society.
      Be sure to include specific examples of hardware and software.

​Using video editing software (iMovie, MovieMaker, PowToon) create a 30-60 second commercial that will promote a modern version of a product, movement, or institution similar to the ones you find in your reading of "1984" and your study of your totalitarian leader. 



Examples from your reading and totalitarian leader include:

• Victory Gin

• Victory cigarettes

• Telescreens

• Hitler Youth/ Junior Spies

• Fascism
